I'm on a roll

Although E and I are not parents, we are surrounded by the children that we know and love, included our 2 year old niece, Raelee, and our 4 year old nephew, Carson. With Christmas fast approaching, I asked my sister-in-law, Brit, what the kids would love to find under the tree this year, and was told that lately, they've been banging away on her pots and pans. Since I'm somewhat store-a-phobic this time of year, I 'headed' to Toys 'R' Us and looked around to see what I could come up with.

Well, not only did I find some great things, but I found some great deals as well! Right now, Toys 'R' Us is offering free shipping when you purchase $25 or more on select items, of which there are thousands of all price ranges. I picked out a music set for each of the kids, a game for them to share, and Skip Bo! for me, all of which came out to a grand total of a little over $52. Shipping was $11, but because I chose from the selected items, it was free. I also chose to pay with Paypal, which gave me an additional bonus - $25 off any purchase of $50 or more!

Yup, I ended up getting four toys, including shipping, for a little over $29. Combine that with the little goodies I picked up at Target for $9, and I spent less than $20 a child this year! I love spoiling them, so finding a deal like this is almost like spraying fat free, sugar free whipped cream in your mouth - all the delicious with none of the guilt! This is almost as good as saving $52 on my grocery bill last week by using coupons.

Merry Christmas to me!

1. Your blog is so cute and pretty. I want your header to be turned into fabric and I want that fabric to be turned into a bag and sold on ebay.

2. Don't forget to email me your address so I can mail you the mix CD you won. angela@sparkliesunshine.net

3. Deals like that rock. Who knew Toys 'R' Us could be such a bargain?

4. Isn't saving money using coupons way more satisfying than it should be? I'm always trying to get other people impressed with my savings and usually they give me a blank stare.
